Background:
Derek King BA (Hons), DMS, GHR (reg), FCMI ...
is a Master Practitioner of NLP, a Hypnotherapist registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register, a personal coach and a member of the Professional Guild of NLP. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
He was first introduced to hypnotherapy in 1995, subsequent to which he used the techniques learned to support colleagues in his then role of director of a legal advice agency. Derek qualified in personal coaching at Newcastle College and followed this with Neuro-linguistic Programming Practitioner & Master Practitioner training (by Derek Jackson, Fran Burgess, David Gordon & James Lawley). He then completed Ericksonian Hypnotherapist training and decided to return to his principle areas of interest of working with individual clients and patients to support them in introducing enduring changes to improve their lives and achieve personal goals.
Derek also works with organisations seeking to make changes to operational practice and workforce engagement.
For many years Derek led a specialist community-based legal advice service; he established and developed a number of innovative healthcare-based advice and support services including an advocacy and representation service for users of the NHS and also founded a number of community-interest organisations including a Victims' Support service, Carers' Support Scheme and a Council for Voluntary Service. He leads King Dental & Associates' corporate social responsibility function as a trustee of a local advice bureau, a home improvement agency and local Credit Union.

All initial consultations are free of charge. Thereafter consultations are charged at £40.00 per hour.
