Who are we? 

 

Dr Anne King BDS -

qualified as a Dental Surgeon at the University of London Guy’s Hospital in 1984 since when she has been in general practice working in Lancaster before setting up a practice in Carnforth in 1997. In 2004 she took over the practice of Peter Docton on his retirement from general dental surgery. She subsequently qualified with the British Medical Acupuncture Society.

 

She is committed to developing a forward-looking practice which caters for all the needs of patients and aims to deliver a model of patient care. Dr King and her colleagues offer a full range of NHS and private treatments; she is specially interested in extending the provision of high quality cosmetic dentistry which is offered on a private basis within the practice.

 

Dr King’s surgery hours are currently as follows:

        

Tuesday       9.00am - 5.00pm

Wednesday  8.45am - 5.00pm

Thursday      9.00am - 5.45pm

Friday          8.45am - 4.15pm.

 

 

Dr Susanne Slotosch BDS, PhD -

was born & raised in Berlin and studied dentistry at the Free University of Berlin, qualifying in 2000. She joined the family dental practice in 2001 where she gained comprehensive experience in the management and treatment of a wide range of paediatric and adult dental problems including, due to having an in-house dental technician’s laboratory, a deep insight into the technical procedures of complex prosthodontics. Following her love of travel Susanne came to work in northwest England in 2006 and subsequently decided to stay.

 

In 2009 Susanne completed training with the Philipp Pfaff Institute in Germany in implantology, and obtained her PhD in 2010 from the Free University of Berlin having submitted a thesis on modern ceramics in dentistry. Susanne is interested in complementary therapies and is currently studying reflexology.

 

Dr Slotosch’s surgery hours are as follows:

Monday       8.30am – 4.15pm

Tuesday      8.30am – 4.15pm

Thursday     8.30am - 4.15pm 

Friday         8.30am – 12.00pm.



Dr Heather Scarrott BDS -

qualified from Dundee University in 1989, where she also completed an additional 6 month secondment in prosthetics.  Heather has now worked in general dental practice for 20 years, initially working in general practice in Cheadle, Staffordshire for 5 years, before moving to work in Kendal in 1995. Dentally, Heather is particularly interested in preventive dental practice and periodontal disease. Her hobbies include skiing, fell walking and voluntary work with the National Trust footpath teams. She also has a keen interest in alternative, holistic therapies such as Reiki, reflexology and aromatherapy.


Dr Scarrott’s current surgery hours are as follows:

Monday        8.30am - 4.30pm

Tuesday       9.00am - 5.15pm

Wednesday  9.00am - 5.15pm
Thursday      8.30am - 4.30pm.




Dr Arthur Wrennall BDS -

qualified as a Dental Surgeon at the University of Liverpool in 1974 and, having previously run his own practice in east Lancashire, recently joined the team.

Dr Wrennall's surgery hours are as follows:

Monday      9.00am - 5.00pm

Thursday    9.00am - 5.00pm. 



Mrs Julie Clark RDH, Dental Hygienist - 

as a dental nurse developed an interest in preventative dentistry and subsequently studied and graduated from Newcastle Dental Hospital in 1992 as a Dental Hygienist. Her work focuses on the treatment and control of periodontal disease (gum disease). She also offers advice on how to maintain good oral health, recommend suitable products for personal use, and offers nutritional advice on how to prevent oral health conditions from developing.

 

Mr Chris Exley, RDT, Dental Therapist -

trained as a dental hygienist in 1998 and subsequently undertook training as a dental therapist in 2003.

 

Miss Sandra Cooper, Practice Manager. Sandra is also one of our three oral health tutors.
